HUG Branches
CamHUG (Cambridge Heritage Users Group)
Our local user group was formed in 2002, and is mainly comprised of College Librarians (9 college libraries within the University of Cambridge use IS). We would like to encourage other Heritage users in Cambridge to join us, particularly those from other sectors.
We do not have a formal
constitution but
we do maintain a discussion list, and we usually meet up twice a year,
of which one occasion is purely social e.g. Christmas lunch.
We initially formed to act cooperatively, in order to develop a cost effective basic model for mapping MARC21 tags to Heritage catalogue fields. Our aims of the group are to provide informal support within the group and to improve our knowledge and expertise of the Heritage system by the sharing of information, visits to members’ libraries and one-off training events. Even without a formal constitution we can apply to the national HUG for funding for one-off events to fund local Cambridge based Heritage training workshops or other appropriate events.
We do welcome new input into our group. If you are based in the Cambridge area and would like to join our group please contact Candace Guite.
The London and South East Heritage Group
The London, South East and Eastern Heritage Regional User Group was set up in November 2004 for the purpose of sharing experiences, providing informal support and training. We also ran a Serials training day in August 2005 where the training was delivered by IS Oxford at a subsidised rate. We meet Termly at the various institutions in the region. Currently we have 58 members, most of who are based in FE institutions.
Details of meetings including minutes are circulated via our list at http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/lists/JISC-RSC-HUG.html

North East Heritage User Group
This is a new group which held an initial meeting on 27th June. Peter Way from IS Oxford also attended the meeting to demonstrate the art of creating reports in Heritage and discussed other issues raised on the day. A follow up meeting is planned for October to be held at Newcastle College. Membership of the group comes predominately from the FE colleges but we welcome members from any sector or specialist area.

North West Health Libraries Heritage User Group
The North West Health Libraries Heritage User Group meets four times a year.
The group is also running a project to create a team of "local experts" who will provide some basic training for members of staff new to Heritage and perhaps deliver some telephone based support to users experiencing problems.

South West Academic Libraries Heritage User Group
We are a group of college librarians working in liaison with JISC RSC South West. Our members come form a large area bounded roughly by Gloucester, Swindon, Bournemouth and Land's End! We aim to meet once or twice a year for support and training. Training is usually in the form of sharing experience but in 2003 we also ran a formal training day with IS Oxford. The group focuses on practice in college libraries and LRCs, but where appropriate meetings are advertised to all HUG members.
The group is grateful for the financial support of HUG in the organisation of its events.
